Ancient Designs · Software Studio
We help communities care for their people.
Our purpose
We build full-service software suites for institutions that generic software was never built to fit.
Who we serve
The institutions we build for.
We work with organizations that keep serious records and run on their own way of doing things. The kind that off-the-shelf software has always failed.
- ParishesWhere we started. A parish keeps sensitive records and runs on a calendar no ordinary software understands. We built the system that finally fit, and we run it for parishes today.
- DiocesesThe larger body a parish answers to, with its own need to see everything at once and keep the record straight. The same work, at a larger scale.
- MonasteriesCommunities that think in centuries. They need software that respects their rhythm and stays out of the way, and that is what we build for them.
- Schools & institutionsWhere we are headed next. Any organization with people to track, a history to keep, and a way of working that generic tools have never respected.
What we do
Strategy to care, under one roof.
We own the whole project. The same small team takes you from the first conversation to the software you run for years.
Strategy — we decide together what to build, and what to leave alone.
Design — software your people can use without a manual.
Engineering — complete, durable systems. The finished thing, not a demo.
Migration — your records brought across cleanly, reconciled and intact.
Care — we stay, and a real person answers when you write.
How we work
What working with us looks like.
- 01We listen first. Before we write any code, we learn how your institution actually runs: its year, its people, its exceptions. The software has to fit you, not the other way around.
- 02We design it simply. The people who run institutions are busy, and often not technical. We design software that is calm and obvious, the kind you can learn in an afternoon.
- 03We build the whole thing. We deliver a complete, finished system, not a demo. The real workflows, the exports, the parts that have to work on a busy Tuesday. Built to last, and yours to keep.
- 04We stay. We do not disappear after launch. We keep improving the software, and when you write to us, one of the people who built it answers.
Selected work
Our first work is Symphonia.
The website, the sacramental register, the stewardship program, and the parishioner directory, all as one cohesive product built around the liturgical year. Made for Orthodox parishes, by people who actually go to one.

What we commit to
Software institutions can keep.
Symphonia is designed so each institution can export and retain its own records instead of being locked into a closed system.

The studio
Made for you, not for everyone.
Generic software is built to be sold to everyone, which means it fits no one especially well. We do the opposite. We take on a few institutions at a time, learn how each one really runs, and build a complete suite around it.
