Ancient Designs makes the operating system for the Orthodox church. We started building Symphonia because our own parishes deserved software shaped by the liturgical year, not generic CRM tools retrofitted with "church mode."
The story.
Most parishes today run on a stack of mismatched tools: a website CMS, a bulletin Word template, a sacramental records spreadsheet, a separate donation platform, a Facebook group for announcements. Each one is "fine" in isolation; together they're an unmaintainable mess that no single staff member can hold in their head.
Symphonia is the answer. One database, one interface, one trained admin. Built around the Orthodox calendar from the ground up — old calendar, new calendar, named feasts, fasts, dispensations. We didn't bolt this on; it's the foundation.
Ancient Designs is small on purpose. We work with parishes directly, we ship fast, and we don't sell your data.
What we believe.
Liturgy is the foundation.
The calendar isn't a feature flag. Software that doesn't understand the difference between a leavetaking and an apodosis can't serve a parish.
Privacy is sacred.
Members trust the parish with confessions, pastoral conversations, sacramental records. We treat that as one-way data.
Ship the boring parts well.
Bulletins on time, statements that reconcile, exports that work. The unsexy things are 90% of parish administration.
